Can the adhesion thickness of latex gloves be adjusted?

The adhesion thickness of gloves can be adjusted, mainly in the following ways:

1. Adjust the concentration of latex

Increase the concentration: Increasing the concentration of latex can increase the adhesion thickness of gloves. When the solid content in the latex increases, more latex will adhere to the mold under the same conditions during the dipping process, making the gloves thicker. For example, when producing some industrial gloves that require a thicker protective layer, the concentration of latex can be appropriately increased.

Reduce the concentration: On the contrary, reducing the concentration of latex will make the adhesion thickness of gloves thinner. For some gloves that require high operational flexibility, such as medical gloves, the thickness of gloves can be reduced by reducing the concentration of latex, improving the touch and operation accuracy of the hands.

2. Control the dipping time

Extend the dipping time: Increasing the immersion time of the mold in the latex can allow more latex to adhere to the mold, thereby increasing the thickness of the gloves. For example, when thicker gloves need to be made, the dipping time can be appropriately extended, but care should be taken to avoid problems such as glue flow or glue dripping due to excessive time.

Shorten the dipping time: Shorten the dipping time will reduce the amount of latex attached, making the gloves thinner. For some specific application scenarios, such as electronic assembly work that requires thin gloves, the dipping time can be shortened to control the thickness of the gloves.

3. Adjust the dipping temperature

Increase the temperature: Properly increasing the temperature of the latex liquid can reduce its viscosity, making it easier for the latex to flow and adhere to the mold, thereby increasing the thickness of the gloves. However, too high a temperature may affect the performance and stability of the latex, so it needs to be adjusted within a suitable range.

Lower the temperature: Lowering the temperature of the latex liquid will increase the viscosity, and the amount of latex attached may decrease, making the gloves thinner. In some temperature-sensitive production processes, the thickness of the gloves can be adjusted by controlling the temperature.

4. Change the mold characteristics

Mold surface treatment: Different surface treatments of the mold can affect the adhesion of the latex. For example, using a mold with a rough surface may make the latex adhere thicker, while a mold with a smooth surface may make the gloves thinner. The appropriate mold surface treatment method can be selected to adjust the glove thickness as needed.

Mold shape and size: Molds of different shapes and sizes will also affect the thickness of the gloves. Generally speaking, a larger size mold may make the gloves relatively thin, while a smaller size mold may make the gloves thicker. When designing and selecting a mold, these factors can be considered to adjust the attached thickness of the gloves.
