What should we pay attention to during the dipping process of latex gloves?

1. Mold preparation

Mold cleanliness: Make sure the mold surface is clean, oil-free and free of impurities. If the mold surface is not clean, it will affect the adhesion of latex, resulting in defects on the glove surface, uneven thickness and other problems. Before dipping, the mold should be strictly cleaned and treated, including acid and alkali cleaning, water cleaning and other steps to remove dirt and impurities on the mold surface.

Mold temperature: The temperature of the mold has a certain effect on the adhesion and curing of latex. Generally speaking, the mold temperature should be controlled within an appropriate range. Too high or too low temperature may cause glove quality problems. For example, if the mold temperature is too high, the latex may dry too quickly, affecting its fluidity and adhesion; if the mold temperature is too low, the curing speed of the latex will slow down, which may cause poor glove molding. Before dipping, the mold can be preheated to reach the appropriate temperature.

2. Latex liquid quality

Latex concentration: Controlling the concentration of the latex liquid is the key. If the concentration is too high, the gloves may be too thick and too hard, affecting the flexibility of operation; if the concentration is too low, the gloves may be too thin and the protective performance is insufficient. During the production process, the concentration of latex should be accurately adjusted according to different glove specifications and requirements. At the same time, the concentration of latex should be tested regularly to ensure its stability.

Latex stability: The stability of latex is crucial to the dipping process. If the latex is unstable, stratification, precipitation and other phenomena may occur, affecting the quality of the gloves. When mixing the latex, appropriate stabilizers, such as surfactants, should be added to improve the stability of the latex. At the same time, attention should be paid to the storage conditions of the latex to avoid factors such as excessively high or low temperatures or violent stirring.

3. Dipping operation

Dipping time: Strictly control the dipping time. If the dipping time is too long, the gloves may be too thick, and it is easy to have glue flow and glue dripping; if the dipping time is too short, the gloves may be too thin and the protective performance is insufficient. According to different glove specifications and requirements, as well as factors such as the concentration and temperature of the latex, the dipping time should be reasonably determined. Generally speaking, the best dipping time can be determined through experiments and experience.

Dipping speed: Control the speed at which the mold is immersed in the latex. If the speed is too fast, bubbles may be generated, affecting the quality of the gloves; if the speed is too slow, the production efficiency will be reduced. During the dipping process, keep the dipping at a uniform speed and avoid sudden acceleration or deceleration. At the same time, pay attention to the angle and depth of the mold dipping to ensure that the latex can evenly cover the mold surface.

Dipping depth: Ensure that the mold is immersed in the latex liquid to a consistent depth. If the dipping depth is inconsistent, the thickness of the gloves will be uneven, affecting the quality and performance of the gloves. During the dipping process, a fixed device or equipment should be used to control the immersion depth of the mold to ensure that each mold can be immersed to the same depth.

4. Environmental factors

Temperature and humidity: The temperature and humidity of the dipping workshop have a certain effect on the drying and curing of latex. Too high temperature or too high humidity may cause the latex to dry slower and affect production efficiency; too low temperature or too low humidity may cause the latex to dry too quickly and affect the quality of the gloves. Therefore, it is necessary to control the temperature and humidity of the dipping workshop. Generally speaking, the temperature should be kept within an appropriate range, and the humidity should not be too high or too low.

Ventilation conditions: Good ventilation conditions can speed up the drying of latex, reduce the volatilization of solvents, and reduce environmental pollution. Ventilation equipment should be installed in the dipping workshop to ensure air circulation. At the same time, attention should be paid to the direction and intensity of ventilation to avoid adverse effects on the dipping process.
